Oil Terminal

PEG subsidiary Channel Energy owns and operates one of the most modern oil terminals on the Black Sea in the port of Poti, Georgia, constructed with EBRD financing under the technical supervision of Dutch company Tebodin.

Channel Energy’s oil terminals are approved by some of the world’s largest oil companies, holding quality standard certificates ISO 45001:2018 (occupational health and safety management), ISO 14001:2015 (environmental management) and ISO 9001:2015 (quality management) and in compliance with JIG requirements.

The total storage capacity of the terminals reach 144,000 cubic meters, and have an annual throughput capacity of 3.5 million tonnes.

Channel Energy assets include 10 storage tanks for handling clean petroleum products, three separate RTC trestles capable of handling 72 RTCs simultaneously and two berths in Poti Port for the handling of oil and chemical tankers.

Tanks equipped with floating roofs, and a pipeline with a ‘smart PIG’ system used to maintain integrity and safety of handled products means the terminal is in step with technological standards in the field.
